Yin and Yang

Two complementary forces that make up the phenomena of life. Yin - a symbol of earth, femininity, darkness, passivity, and absorption. Yang - a symbol of heaven, masculinity, light, activity, and penetration.
Star of David

Star of David, Hebrew Magen David (“Shield of David”), a Jewish symbol composed of two overlaid equilateral triangles that form a six-pointed star. The term Magen David, which in Jewish liturgy signifies God as the protector (shield) of David.
Celtic Knot

This knot is a complete loop that have no start or finish and could be said to represent eternity. Only one thread is used in the design which symbolizes how life and eternity are interconnected.
Five Stone Elements

This mosaic displays a series of forms referring to rock stacking by a stream, an exercise that requires balance, mindfulness and stillness. It is done to bring about focus, peace and calm for both maker and viewers. For Louise, who identifies with being in a marginalised group, the art of mosaic making brings about these qualities of peace and calm.
DEITY: TIME, PLACE AND CULTURE
Deity exhibition featuring artists Rose Kviz, Jo Mitchell and Louise Marson, explores the idea that religion is common to most, if not all cultures, regardless of how old the culture or where in the world.
